How You Can Volunteer

Ex-British Prime Minister Winston Churchill once said – ‘You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give.’ Ever stopped to wonder if its time to give back to society, but not been able to understand how?

 

The following are the broad heads under which you can volunteer at Ashray Akruti:

 

1. Teach computers to childern and staff.

2. Teach children indoor games like table tennis chess, caroms etc (with rules and regulations)

3. Teach arts, crafts, dance, singing, musical instruments and painting.

4. Help the organization in raising funds.

5. Volunteer in fund raising activities.

6. Celebrate Children’s day, Independence day etc with the children of Ashray Akruti.

7. Teach a new game to the hostel children on any Sunday After noon.

8. Plan a picnic/ movie for hostel children.

9. Bring a smile by presenting some hand made greeting cards/flowers etc.

10. Help in maintaining health and hygiene in the hostel.

11. Help in procuring medicines for the children.

12. Cover note books for children.

13. Help in stitching their clothes.

14. Plan a simple fundraiser like screening a movie in aid of these children.

15. Help in finding sponsors for children’s education and sports facilities.

16. Make student’s portfolios and their success stories and convey the same to their donors and parents.

17. Organize for pre-vocational skills on a consistent basis.

18. Help in organizing a medical camp-ENT/General Physician/Dentist/Skin/Pediatrician etc.

19. Paint the class rooms/hostel.

20. Writing/Preparing newsletter/Annual report/Communication material for Ashray Akruti.

21. Event management-Participate in 8th Kite festival.

22. Translations.

23. Develop marketing materials.

24. Designing business plans.
