Community Outreach Project - Mobile Hearing Clinics
Ashray Akruti’s Mobile Hearing Clinic reaches the doorstep of children from underprivileged backgrounds to address their need for quality ear and hearing care. A unique facility which started in 2015 visits government run Anganwadis and primary schools and offers free services such as ENT and hearing screenings. The tests are carried out by qualified ENT doctors and Audiologists. Medicines are provided for minor ear ailments such as hardened wax,puss in the ear etc. Next level interventions & rehabilitation are suggested for the persons identified with disabilities.
A state-of-the-art Mobile Hearing Clinic with sound proof fabrication and fitted with audiological equipment along with a project team consisting of a Project Coordinator, ENT Doctors, Audiologists and Community ear care health Crew (CEHC) visit Anganwadi Centres and Government schools and provide free services like ENT &hearing screening. Beneficiaries through mobile medical camps are treated for ear related issues, such as compacted wax, ear discharge, foreign bodies in the ear, etc. Post the medication program, review camps are organized to remove compacted wax, foreign bodies in the ear&ear discharge, etc.
Through this community outreach project Ashray Akruti has been able to impact the lives of many beneficiaries & refer them to the next level by recommending for rehabilitation & allied services, such as Early Intervention Centre, Hearing Aid trial & distribution, Cochlear Implant program, Auditory Verbal Therapy Centre, Inclusive Education Program, Multi-disciplinary Rehabilitation Centre, Multimedia and Animation Training Unit, etc.
